GM, UAW negotiating more buyouts
A top official at General Motors says that the automaker is about to close a deal with the United Auto Workers for another round of buyouts and early retirement offers. While negotiations are ongoing, this agreement would mark the latest step in GM's efforts to replace current members of its hourly staff with new workers hired at lower-tier wages.
