Golden Farm workers punished for organizing boycott of Kensington store, advocates charge
Workers at a New York City grocery store say that they were punished for organizing a boycott. The workers, who say that their hours have been cut, are trying to pressure the store to pay back wages to the widow of a former employee, as well as to negotiate a contract with paid sick days. Workers say that they think the boycott cost the store 50% of its sales over the weekend, and that they will continue the pressure until the store does the right thing. The store says that workers are treated fairly, and that they had not retaliated against workers for the boycott.
