Google Denies Labor Department's Pay Disparity Allegations
In response to the Labor Department's testimony in court that women at Google do not receive equal pay compared to their male counterparts, the tech giant denied the existence of a gender pay gap, and called the findings "unfounded". Google cited its annual salary analysis, which has found no gender pay gap at the company, and criticized the Department of Labor's lack of data. The Department of Labor began the lawsuit against Google in January when the tech giant failed to submit compensation data for an audit. Due to its status as a federal contractor, Google is required to submit compensation data and documents and has done so in the past. The investigation is still ongoing.
