Google Fiber contractors set to unionize
As Google Fiber contract workers in Kansas City are set to vote on unionizing, workers feel they are facing union busting efforts by their contracting firm, BDS Connected Solutions. Workers filed a petition with the NLRB in January after Google and BDS did not agree to voluntarily recognize a union. Last week workers received a letter from BDS strongly discouraging them from unionizing. The Alphabet Workers Union seeking to represent these workers said, “We are deeply disappointed that management at BDS Connected Solutions has refused to commit to a fair and transparent union election process."
