Although Google Glass failed to find purchase in the consumer market, the technology is being used by many companies in the manufacturing industry. AGCO, a company that creates farming equipment, distributed the device to factory workers to make manufacturing information more accessible. In many cases, tablets are ineffective on the factory floor because they can easily be dropped from machinery and damaged. AGCO currently has 100 employees using the device, and plans to double that number by the end of the year. Other companies using Google Glass include General Electric and Boeing.
