GOP governor to sign bill making Missouri 28th right-to-work state
Missouri's Governor, Eric Greitens, signed a bill on Monday that made Missouri the nation's 28th right to work state. The Republican governor believes it will attract businesses to Missouri, but the Democratic opposition believes the bill will result in lower wages and lessen the strength of unions. As a right to work state, workers in Missouri will no longer be required to pay union dues, but they will enjoy union negotiated contract terms. There has been a national push for similar bills after Republicans won the majority in many state legislatures.
