Gov. Pat Quinn visits striking Caterpillar workers
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn visited striking Caterpillar workers, bringing them a $10,000 donation. The workers have been on strike for 15 weeks. Caterpillar wants to workers to agree to a wage freeze, raise health care costs and eliminate some pensions. Workers have asked for cost of living increases, lower health care costs and for the company to recognize seniority. Caterpillar made profits last year, and is expected to do the same this year.
