Gov. Readies Special Election to Attack Legislature, Unions
Arnold Schwarzenegger looks set to call a special election in California, in an attempt to reform the state legislature and the unions who back political candidates. Under Schwarzenegger's reforms, public sector unions would be required to ask permission of members in order to use their dues for political purposes. Democrats and unions are firmly against the proposal, which was previously tabled and rejected in 1998.
