Government: No Benefit Hike for Social Security Next Year
For only the third time in the last 40 years, there will not be a cost-of-living increase in Social Security benefits. This announcement affects over 70 million people (one fifth of the nation’s population) who receive social security benefits. The absence of a cost-of-living increase will also trigger an increase in Medicare premiums and deductibles.
