According to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (PBCG), the government is holding some $75 million in unclaimed pension benefits for thousands of Americans. The PBCG insures private-sector pensions and often pension money goes to them when companies go bankrupt. People can check to see if they are eligible for pension money on the PBGC site at www.pbgc.gov/search.
