Greece Hit By Transit Strike, Walkout Ahead Of Budget Vote
Greek transit workers walked out on Wednesday as part of a 24-hour strike protesting government reforms. Other public workers participated in a three hour work stoppage which affected government operations, offices and schools. The strikes come ahead of the parliament's vote on the 2011 budget, which is expected to begin a midnight. The budget includes more spending cuts and tax increases, and comes after parliament approved labor reforms that capped salaries and restricted bonuses.
