Greece orders seamen back to work after union decides to extend 6-day strike
The Greek government has invoked emergency powers to send seamen back to work, the second use of such power in less than two weeks. The seamen have been on strike for the last six days, leaving the country without ferries. The seamen had voted to extend their strike until Friday. Those who refuse to return to work face arrest. The strikes have been in protest of new austerity measures, which the government says are necessary but which opponents say will only hurt workers.
