Greek power workers charged in building takeover protest
On Monday, Greek power workers who occupied a public utility building were charged with disturbing the peace. The workers were protesting austerity measures before a visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Police entered the building and arrested the workers. Another round of austerity cuts for Greece is expected to go to parliament in the near future. Greece faces an unemployment rate of about 24% in the private sector, and many people are unhappy with the continuing cuts demanded by international lenders.
