Greek transport workers, doctors strike over austerity
Greek transportation and health workers went on strike to protest proposed cuts. The government says that the newest round of austerity is necessary to satisfy the terms of loans that the country has received from foreign lenders. Workers say that the austerity measures are hurting ordinary people and causing problems for the country's health system. Transportation workers were on strike for nine days earlier in January until the government forced them to return to work.
