Greeks to strike against new measures in June
Greek public sector umbrella union ADEDY says that it will stage a strike in June. The strike will protest against austerity measures and privatization plans. ADEDY says the strike, which will last for 24 hours is part of the union's ongoing efforts to block the planned austerity measures. ADEDY may be joined in the strike by their private-sector counterpart, GSEE. GSEE says that it will decide whether it will strike next week. A strike on May 11 brought thousands of demonstrators into the streets.
