Grocery store workers in Minnesota threaten to strike over management’s unfair labor practices
Kowalski’s grocery store workers in Minnesota are planning to strike during the first week of August. Grocery store employees, who are represented by The United Food and Commercial Workers union, state that Kowalski’s management has participated in unfair labor practices at various locations in the Twin Cities area. Management allegedly misrepresented employees’ health insurance proposals, attempted to intimidate unionized employees, and bargained in bad faith. The union is willing to continue negotiations to improve wages and employee benefits, and if negotiations are successful strike action will not be taken.
