Guidelines to Gambling in the Workplace
As March Madness is approaching quickly, employers must be active about making their gambling policies clear in the workplace. A recent study has shown that millions of employees participate in office pools and sometimes view the games at the office. The study also estimates that during the March tournament, the average employee spends six work hours per week engaged in March Madness activities. Overall, the study concluded that employers suffer from an estimated 13.2 billion loss in productivity during the tournament. Additionally, issues of illegal gambling in the workplace arise during March Madness.
