Harley to Keep Pennsylvania Plant on Union Job Cuts
In response to to a labor accord cutting union workers at its plant in York, Pennsylvania, Harley Davidson Inc. has agreed to keep the plant open. The accord will cut about 950 employees, to a workforce of about 1,000. The cuts combined with other restructuring to be done by the company will save Harley between $135 million and $155 million per year. The accord was approved by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 175 yesterday.
