Harvard's Janitors Vote to Authorize Strike
Hundreds of members of the janitorial staff at Harvard University voted to authorize a strike deadline of next Tuesday if they cannot reach a contract agreement with the institution. Union 32BJ SEIU has been representing the janitors in negotiations since they began on October 7th. This decision comes after Harvard’s dining hall employees conducted a work stoppage that lasted 22 days last month. The janitors are fighting for better wages and decreased healthcare costs.
