Health care costs at the heart of union fight
With more than 99% of members voting yes, the Culinary and Bartenders Union voted to strike against 10 Las Vegas casinos. At the heart of the impasse is the rising cost of health insurance which the union is demanding that the companies pay 100% of. The union which represents 37,000 members claims that the companies have not paid the share of the costs agreed to under the new five-year contract ratified last year.
