HEB Grocery Chain to Give Stock to 55,000 Employees
In Texas, one of the largest grocery chains, HEB, recently announced that it will give 55,000 employees a stake in the company. Employees who are over 21, have worked at least 1,000 hours a year, and have been with the company for at least one year are eligible to receive equity in the company. The firms founding family will give away approximately 15% of the company's shares through this new initiative. Last year, the company earned $23 billion in net sales.
