Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco bay area is known for an exuberant cost of living. As the high costs of living has pushed Silicon Valley workers from pursuing housing options further from their jobs, CFOs have taken note. As longer commute times can decrease the productivity of workers, more Silicon Valley companies have followed in the footsteps of Google and Facebook which have purchased real estate near their headquarters for employee use.
