Hilton Boston Logan Airport, Hilton Boston Park Plaza workers are on strike indefinitely
Hundreds of workers at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport hotel and the Hilton Boston Park Plaza hotel are on strike, and will continue to take strike action until a tentative contract is reached. The two Hilton hotels are the largest Hilton hotels in the Boston area. Workers went on strike for three days during Labor Day weekend, and began open ended strike action starting this week. The UNITE HERE Union represents workers, and the union also represents workers at Marriott and Omni hotels in Boston. The union held a city-wide strike authorization vote after collective bargaining agreements expired in August, and workers overwhelmingly voted in favor of authorizing strike action. The union is demanding higher wages because the cost of living in Boston has significantly increased in recent years, and more sustainable workloads.
