Hollywood producers set Aug. 15 deadline for Screen Actors Guild to accept contract offer
Hollywood studios have set a deadline of August 15 for the Screen Actors Guild to accept their latest contract offer. The studios have told SAG that the proposed wage increases would not be retroactive if the union does not accept the "final" offer by August 15. The retroactive wages could amount to about $200,000 that would be lost if the union does not accept the offer by the proposed deadline. However, both sides appear to be headed to impasse in their current negotiations, leaving a cloud of uncertainty hanging over any possible acceptance of the studios' final offer.
