Home Depot Seeks Older Workers for Jobs
As part of a partnership between the AARP and Home Depot, the AARP will find and train older workers and will help them apply for jobs. An AARP representative said that as the population ages, there will be a worker shortage, and an increasing need to fill these vacancies with mature workers. The Department of Labor provides $75 million a year to efforts like this through the Senior Community Service Employment Program, which helps people over 55 get training and update their job skills.
