Honda strike in China ends with pay hike
Chinese workers who went on strike July 12 at a Honda supply factory returned to work on Thursday after reaching an agreement with the factory. The 200 employees were given a $74 increase in monthly salaries, a 47% pay increase. A worker said that everyone had returned to work once the deal was negotiated. Workers struck in response to a change that cut overtime pay, which many relied upon. The strike was one of at least 36 in the Guangdong province between May 25 and July 12. The average raise received was between $15 and $75 a month.
