Hong Kong trade unions advocate for virus-containment measures
Trade unions in Hong Kong are threatening to strike unless more drastic measures are taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. High-speed rail and cross-border ferry services between Hong Kong and China have been discontinued until further notice, however unions believe this is not sufficient given the gravity of the situation. The Hospital Authority Employees Alliance would like the border to be closed entirely. Hong Kong's leader, Lam, has stated that it would be "inappropriate" to close the border.
