Hopkins, union agree to tentative deal on wage increases
Over four months of grueling talks came to an end Tuesday as Johns Hopkins Hospital and 2,000 service workers represented by the SEIU came to an agreement on a new contract including pay increases across the board. The agreement, which observers say could be a benchmark for the health care industry, includes a new $15/hour minimum wage for workers with 20 years experience, extending to workers with 15 years experience by 2017. The deal will now be presented to workers for ratification.
