Howard Brown Health United announces upcoming strike action, urges consumers to boycott Howard Brown Elephant resale shops
Howard Brown Health United represented Howard Brown Health employees, and the union announced upcoming strike action set to take place November 13th to 15th. The union is demanding higher worker wages, affordable health insurance, the right for the union to be involved in decision-making, and protections and notices for layoffs. Workers are also seeking better working conditions, such as remote work options as well as overtime pay. In recent bargaining sessions, Howard Brown Health management proposed cutting patient appointments from 40 minutes to 20 minutes, and employees were strongly against this measure, stating that it would negatively impact patient care. Howard Brown Health management and the union will meet with a federal mediator, in an attempt to reach a tentative agreement before the strike deadline. While negotiations are ongoing, Howard Brown Health United is calling for individuals to boycott Howard Brown Health’s Elephant resale stores, which are thrift stores that sell clothing and home goods.
