Hundreds of Amazon Warehouse Workers Are Expected to Strike in Germany
Several hundred of Amazon's warehouse employees in Germany are expected to strike until Christmas Eve. The workers are being represented by Verdi and are pushing for better pay and working conditions. Workers at the online retailer's Koblenz warehouse began striking on Monday, and Verdi is urging nine other Amazon warehouses across Germany to strike. Amazon has assured customers that their Christmas orders will arrive on time, but Verdi argues that the strike will be both disruptive and costly for the company. Verdi believes that the warehouse workers should be paid as much as mail order and retail employees in Germany, Amazon disagrees.
