Hundreds of flights canceled by German strikes
German ground handlers staged strikes on Tuesday over wage issues. The workers struck at many of Germany's major airports struck, causing hundreds of cancellations. The union that represents the workers said that if these strikes did not have the desired affect, the union may increase their measures. If talks are not successful by the end of the week, the dispute will go to mediation, after which workers could vote on a strike. The union is asking for a 6.5% pay increase for 2 million workers. The employers have offered a 3.3% increase over 2 years.
