Hyatt Workers Go on Strike
Workers at the Hyatt West Hollowood hotel have decided to go on strike as contract negotiations between workers and owners at seven prominent Los Angeles County hotels faltered. Hotel owners have voted to lock out union employees at the six other hotels at an unspecified date in response to the strike. The main points of contention revolve around health insurance deductions and contract length, with the union desiring a nationwide expiration date. The strike is scheduled to last two weeks, though Hyatt may call in replacement workers.
