Hyundai Motor Union Scales Back Strike Plan
The Korean Metal Workers' Union has backed off from an earlier plan to strike at Hyundai motor plants this week, instead holding more limited work stoppages on Thursday and Friday. The union has been planning to strike in protest of a new US-South Korea free trade agreement. The decision to scale back the strike comes after members of Hyundai's union opposed the plan, saying the decision had not come to a vote.
