Hyundai: Strike forces export suspension
Hyundai Motor Co. has suspended its export of automobiles due to this summer's partial strike, a company spokesperson reported Thursday. While the automaker has shipped enough cars overseas already to prevent a supply disruption, this year's strike has reduced the company's production by 78,616 vehicles, worth approximately $1.13 billion. The automaker's unionized workers have been on a partial strike since June 26, demanding pay raises, higher incentives, and better work conditions.
