Hyundai's Czech car workers get big pay rise as labor market tightens
Factory employees of Hyundai Motor Co. in the Czech Republic will receive a 12 percent pay increase this year. The 12 percent pay rise includes a 4.56 percent base pay increase. The Czech Republic is dealing with a 4.3 percent unemployment rate: the current low within the European Union. Many companies have reacted to the tightening labor market by raising wages. For example, Skoda Auto, the Czech Republic's largest exporter, will distribute bonuses of approximately $3,614.75 this year.
