Idaho moves to curb state workers' union
On Thursday, Idaho's governor signed a law that will restrict bargaining for teachers to salaries and benefits, and that removed teacher tenure. The law also limits contracts to one year. The Governor says that the bill will improve the public schools, and that the law was best for the students. Supporters of the bill said that it was not meant to weaken teachers' unions, but to restore local control. Opponents said that the bill was only about reducing union power, not the children.
