In a move to decrease employee turnover and woo top talent, Ikea has improved its paid leave benefit packages for new parents. New mothers and fathers in both salaried and hourly positions will be eligible for four months of paid leave. The new amount of paid leave for more senior employees will be even greater. The leave benefits show a significant increase from the five days of paternity leave and eight weeks of maternity leave that are currently offered. Swedish Ikea employees currently receive 68 weeks paid leave, which is subsidized by the government.
