Illinois Governor Tries Novel Approach in Anti-Union Battle
In Illinois, the current Governor Bruce Rauner has proposed a new plan to develop "empowerment zones" to various counties within the state. These zones would be places where the community would vote on whether to make union membership voluntary or not. Governor Rauner claims that "'the special interest groups have got to be stopped'".
