Implored to 'Offshore' More
A report by the Boston Consulting Group is warning U.S. companies to increase the number of operations they send overseas to China and India, including research and development, or risk extinction. Included in the report is information resulting from confidential discussions with executives who express concern that the quality of American workers is deteriorating. According to the report, although factory workers in low cost countries are paid far less, they quickly achieve high quality levels. The report contends outsourcing production will mean lower costs and higher production for U.S. companies and although some jobs will be lost, resulting new industries will create new jobs.
