In Drought's Firm Grip, California Schools Try to Cope
The severity of the drought in California, which recently instituted mandatory water reductions, has decreased employment opportunities for farm workers, leading to reduced area school enrollment as school districts struggle to comply with the new regulations. Decreasing farm acreage in response to the drought has forced workers to seek employment elsewhere, leaving school districts to address the financial shortfall.
