In France, workers held another mass strike to protest government's pension reform plans
On Tuesday, unions across France held another round of strike actions in opposition of the government's pension reform plans. Transportation services in Paris, the capital, were brought to a standstill and hundreds of schools were closed as metro workers and teachers were amongst the largest groups participating in the protests. Workers are frustrated with the high, and continuously rising, cost of living in France, and these frustrations have been exacerbated by this legislation which would extend their working lifetime. However, despite these labor actions, the French government remains firm in its support of the pension reform and raising the age of retirement for French workers.
