In Ireland, persistent inflation erodes workers' wages, causing a significant decline in standard of living
According to a new report by the OECD, workers in Ireland have experienced declines in their standards of living due to persistent inflation eroding wage earnings. It is estimated that Irish workers' real wages have decreased over the past year on a large scale similar to the 2008 financial crisis. Furthermore, the tax and benefits systems in Ireland have not been adjusted for inflation, causing low-income households with children to be more vulnerable tax rate changes.
