In shocking development, Republican-controlled Oklahoma House rejects State Chamber-backed workers compensation bill
The Oklahoma House of Representatives voted down a Sate Chamber-backed bill that would have allowed some employers to opt out of the state's workers' compensation system. Under federal law, the employers would have become self-insured. Supporters of the bill said that it would lower and costs and be better for injured employees, however opponents said that the bill would protect employers with a history of higher injury rates.
