In Strike, Separate Deals Draw Ire of Big Producers
The individual deals between the Writers Guild and companies such as United Artists and Worldwide Pants have producers for other companies crying foul as the writers strike enters its third month. Representatives for companies such as Dick Clark Productions, which has been trying for weeks to reach deals akin to those granted UA and Worldwide Pants, are charging the Guild with playing favorites, denying similar deals to companies with larger stakes in the ongoing disagreement. The continued stalemate threatens the scheduled Sunday broadcast of the Golden Globes.
