In tight labor market, US employers may look to outsource white-collar jobs to remote workers abroad
Given the tight US labor market and recent growth in remote work, some employers may begin to focus on recruiting workers from abroad to fill positions. Outsourcing jobs to remote workers internationally presents an attractive option for some employers as it may help them cut costs and fill empty positions. As a result, the trend toward remote work may ultimately threaten the jobs of some white-collar workers. However, at the same time, it may also open opportunities for American workers to take remote jobs in foreign countries.
