In Transit Talks, Little Mention of Wages
A negotiating round between the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the union representing 33,700 subway and bus workers ended last night with little discussion on wages and no agreement on productivity increases and reductions in benefits. The session, the fifth since talks formally began last month, ended after 90 minutes with leaders of the Transport Workers Union, Local 100, saying that little had been accomplished.
