In Wreckage of Lost Jobs, Lost Power
Despite the United States' gross domestic product recovering from the recent recession
far better than other countries, the American work force is still suffering from a long period of high unemployment not seen since World War II. This "jobless recovery" is due to the fact that in America, employees are losing power to employers, who now benefit from few restraints, weak unions, and business-friendly courts. The possibility exists that solutions to this problem can be found in observing how other countries have handled this balance of power.
