Indian IT ?sleepless? over US immigration bill
Indian firms are joining together to voice their concerns about the U.S. Border Security Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013. The bill would reduce the number of workers permitted in the U.S. on visas, but would make it quicker to gain U.S. citizenship. The bill has passed the Senate, but has stalled in the House. The Indian firms have hired lobbyists who will bring their concerns directly to U.S. government officials. Regardless of the bill?s outcome, this will change the way the IT sector?s human capital practices and employment levels.
