Int'l labor body expected to step up pressure on S.K.
A meeting of the International Laboor Organization June 15th is expected to result in increased pressure on South Korea to step up measures to allow workers to organize. In a draft of recommendations, the ILO stated no visible improvement in South Korea's labor environment had been noted, citing continuous complaints of violations of workers' right to freely associate. The draft urges South Korea to adopt the ILO's conventions of freedom of association as soon as possible.
