Japanese government calls on businesses to raise workers' wages in order to combat inflation
Amidst persistent high inflation, the living standards and real-wages in Japan have noticeably declined. In response to this economic crisis, the Prime Minister of Japan has released a statement encouraging businesses to raise workers' wages. There is a fear that stagflation will occur if the current conditions continue. Additionally, wages have remained relatively constant over the past decade; so one of the main goals of the Japanese government is to raise wages to prompt economic growth.
